Ghanaian journalist Kofi Adomah Nwanwani is currently undergoing urgent medical treatment in Dubai to restore his eyesight following a tragic accident during a traditional event in Dormaa, Bono Region.
According to Afia Pokuaa, a close friend of the journalist, the incident occurred last week during musketry firing by chiefs at a funeral. Kofi Adomah, repositioning himself at the event, was struck in the face by gunpowder from a firearm that had just been discharged.
The accident caused severe injuries to one of his eyes, leaving him unable to see. His other eye was also affected, resulting in blurry vision.
After receiving initial medical care in Ghana, Kofi Adomah was transferred to Dubai for specialised treatment to address his condition.
In a Facebook post, his wife Miracle Adoma provided an update, saying, “Sorry I can’t respond to the numerous WhatsApp calls on my phone and that of my Husband now. Currently, he is stable and we hope for the best. Thanks for the care.”
The situation has drawn widespread support and prayers from friends and well-wishers for his recovery.
