Asante Kotoko coach Prince Yaw Owusu has called on his players to bounce back strongly when they travel to face strong title contenders Medeama SC on Sunday, April 12.
The Porcupine Warriors head into the matchday 29 fixture under immense pressure after suffering a disappointing 0-2 home defeat to FC Samartex in their last outing.
A win against Medeama in Tarkwa would be a massive statement, especially as the home side sit just one point behind the top spot and are fighting hard for the league title.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, the experienced tactician remained positive ahead of the game against his former club and has urged his team not to dwell on the recent loss.
“In life, things happen; when it happens, you don’t have to let it keep you down. I have spoken to them and the boys are ready to fight back and make sure they bring some life into the supporters,” he said.
The experienced coach revealed that Kotoko will look to play on the counterattack in Tarkwa, hoping to catch the league leaders off guard.
“We are just going to counterattack and see if we can bring them down,” he added.
The Mauves and Yellows have been in excellent form this season and remain one of the toughest teams to beat at home. However, Kotoko will be desperate for three points to ease the pressure and climb back up the league table.
The high-stakes encounter is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT (3:00pm) on Sunday, April 12 at the TnA Stadium
