A group of irate Kotoko fans have chased away interim head coach Prince Owusu from the club’s training complex at Adako Jachie in Kumasi on Wednesday.
Scores of fans were present at the grounds to register their displeasure about the appointment of the former Vision FC coach who acted as an assistant trainer to former head coach Karim Zito who resigned from his role last week.
Upon arriving at the base, the organised group threatened the coach to leave the grounds for his own safety which the coach obliged their directive and ran to his car to seek safety.
Even after leaving the premises to his car, the some of the irate fans still pounded the roof and body of his car to chase him away.
Meanwhile, former Hearts of Oak assistant coach Hamza Obeng took charge of the rest of the training complex.
Later, IMC chairman Nana Apinkra arrived on the scene with security operatives to restore calm and order to the grounds.
Kotoko are preparing for the weekend’s Ghana Premier League game clash against sworn rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
