The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has announced a new initiative aimed at integrating Kumawood actors into the entertainment programmes of Senior High Schools across the region.

The move, he explained, is part of a broader strategy to incorporate elements of health, fashion, and the creative arts into school activities, with the goal of shaping students through culture and homegrown talent.

Dr Amoakohene emphasised that involving Kumawood stars in school events would not only enhance student engagement but also introduce them to the richness of Ghanaian arts and culture.

“There are plans underway to bring on board Kumawood stars and singers from the region to your schools during entertainment on Saturdays on your respective campuses,” he said. “So those of you who want to see McBrown, Kwaku Manu, Lil Win, and others will get the opportunity to interact with them right on your school grounds.”

Beyond boosting morale, the Minister also hinted at a potential partnership between the local fashion industry and Kumawood, aimed at designing costumes for film productions.

This collaboration, he noted, would support the creative economy while offering practical opportunities for young, aspiring fashion designers.

“Our goal is to instill a sense of pride in our heritage,” he said.

The initiative forms part of a growing effort to bridge education and culture, using the influence of entertainment to inspire the next generation.
