Nigerian actress Regina Daniels has appealed to the public to stop hurling insults and making negative comments about her mother, Rita Daniels, amid her ongoing marital crisis.
In a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday November 5, the actress expressed deep pain over how her mother has been unfairly targeted online, insisting that Rita should not be blamed for her personal choices or the challenges in her marriage.
Regina clarified that her decision to marry as a teenager was entirely her own, taken despite her family’s initial objections.
“Please, I am begging everyone, stop insulting my mother. Na me carry my two legs enter,” she said emotionally. “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She warned me, my brothers warned me. I’m so ashamed to say I fell in love.”
The actress further explained that far from being pressured or manipulated, she had been resolute about her decision , even going as far as visiting a police station to report family members who tried to stop the marriage.
Acknowledging that public scrutiny is part of fame, Regina, however, urged the public to draw boundaries, especially when innocent family members are being dragged into controversies.
With her family currently under emotional strain and her brother still missing, she appealed to Nigerians for empathy, understanding, and respect during this difficult time.
