In a night filled with glamour and purpose at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium, the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), witnessed the crowning of Miss Leticia Adwoa Yirenkyi as the Face of UPSA 2024.
The event, a beacon of youth empowerment and gender equality, was a collaboration between the UPSA SRC Women’s Commission, PSLA Africa, and the Prince Sadat Change-Makers Foundation (PSF).
The founder and chairman of PSF, in a heartfelt post on Facebook, shared the foundation’s joy in supporting the event, not just financially but also by enriching the contestants’ knowledge on pivotal issues such as climate change and gender empowerment.
A significant contribution was made by the Foundation, underscoring its commitment to fostering a better world through education and empowerment.
The evening was more than just a pageant; it was a platform for showcasing the strength, intelligence, and potential of young women. Miss Leticia Adwoa Yirenkyi, with her poise and vision, emerged victorious among the talented contestants, earning the honour to serve as the Brand Ambassador for the Prince Sadat Change-Makers Foundation for the coming year.
In his announcement, the foundation’s chairman highlighted the collaborative effort with UPSA WOCOM and PSLA Africa, ensuring that the event not only celebrated beauty but also served as a catalyst for meaningful change.
The partnership was cemented through a Memorandum of Understanding, outlining the shared objectives and commitment towards gender empowerment and climate awareness.
Special recognition was given to Miss Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, the Women’s Commissioner of UPSA SRC, and Miss Joycelyn Lassey, the Deputy SRC Women’s Commissioner for their exceptional dedication and resilience in overcoming challenges to bring the event to fruition.
The Chairman Prince A. A. Sadat lauded their efforts, stating, “History will surely remember them fondly for their contribution to empowering women and promoting gender equality.”
As the newly appointed Brand Ambassador, Miss Yirenkyi will work alongside PSF on projects aimed at education, climate change, leadership, gender equality, and philanthropy. These initiatives, known as the foundation’s five signature projects, include Future Forge, Green Pulse, Lead Legacy, She Rise, and Impact Oasis, respectively.
The event was not only a testament to the beauty and talent of the contestants but also a reflection of the collaborative spirit among organizations committed to making a difference. The Prince Sadat Change-Makers Foundation looks forward to an exciting year ahead with Miss Yirenkyi at the helm of its ambassadorial activities, driving forward the mission of youth empowerment and societal transformation.
