A livestreamer known online as Clavicular has been arrested in Florida after police say he allegedly instigated a physical fight between two women and broadcast it online for views.
Clavicular, real name Braden Eric Peters — was arrested on Thursday, March 26, on a warrant issued in Osceola County and charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal conspiracy to commit battery.
According to investigators, deputies first responded to a reported assault at an Airbnb near Kissimmee on February 2, where a 19-year-old woman claimed she had been attacked by 24-year-old Violet Marie Lentz during a confrontation inside a property rented by the streamer.
But the case took a shocking turn when detectives reviewed video footage and witness statements and concluded that the streamer had allegedly provoked the fight and streamed it online to “exploit” the people involved.
Police say neither Peters nor Lentz cooperated with deputies at the scene, which led to a deeper investigation before an arrest warrant was issued.
Peters was later tracked down and arrested in Fort Lauderdale, where he was booked into jail. Meanwhile, police have also issued a warrant for Violet Marie Lentz on a misdemeanor battery charge — and she is still on the run.
Authorities say the case highlights the dangerous extremes some content creators are going to in order to get views and attention online.
