With the December 7 general elections fast approaching, Global InfoAnalytics has released its latest poll, predicting a clear path to victory for John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to the poll, Mahama is projected to win 52.2% of the vote, positioning him as the likely next president of Ghana.

Published on November 29, 2024, the poll shows Mahama’s main competitor, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), trailing with 41.4% of the vote. Independent candidates Nana Kwame Bediako and Alan Kyerematen are forecast to secure 3.0% and 2.5%, respectively, while the remaining eight presidential candidates are expected to share just 0.9%.

In the race for Parliament, Global InfoAnalytics projects that the NDC will dominate, winning around 150 seats, compared to the NPP’s anticipated 99 seats. One seat is predicted to go to an independent candidate, with 29 seats too close to call.

Regionally, Mahama is expected to win in key areas including Greater Accra, Central, Western, Volta, Western North, Bono East, Northern, Savannah, Upper West, Upper East, and Oti. On the other hand, Dr. Bawumia is predicted to perform strongly in the Ashanti, Eastern, Ahafo, Bono, and North East regions.

With the election day fast approaching, the results of the Global InfoAnalytics poll have sparked increased anticipation, highlighting the competitive nature of the upcoming elections as both major political parties battle for voter support.
