President John Dramani Mahama on February 28, 2025, held a National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service at the Accra International Conference Centre, where he reaffirmed his stance on traditional family values and pledged to introduce a government-sponsored bill against LGBTQ+.

Addressing the clergy, Mahama declared his belief that “there are only two genders—man and woman”, emphasizing his commitment to upholding what he described as the fundamental principles of Ghanaian society.

He also urged religious leaders to continue praying for his administration, acknowledging their role in providing guidance and support.

Speaking at the event, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder of Action Chapel International, advised Mahama to remain humble and grateful as he leads the nation. He reminded the President that “the Most High rules in the affairs of men”, emphasizing that power is divinely ordained and should be exercised with wisdom.

The Archbishop praised Mahama for maintaining close ties with the church both in and out of power, commending his decision to seek divine guidance as he embarks on his leadership journey once again.
