A night of music turned into a police incident after a man was arrested over an alleged sexual assault at a concert by US rapper Gunna at London’s O2 Arena.

Police were called to the famous venue in North Greenwich at around 8:20pm on Wednesday after reports that a woman in her 20s had allegedly been approached from behind and sexually assaulted in the crowd.

In a dramatic turn of events, venue staff quickly stepped in, restraining the suspect before police arrived and arrested the 26-year-old man on the spot. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.

According to The BBC, the Metropolitan Police say the victim is now being supported by specially trained officers, and authorities are working closely with concert venues to improve safety measures — especially for women attending large events.

Gunna, the Atlanta-born rapper behind hits like Drip Too Hard with Lil Baby, is currently on a world tour and had been performing two shows in London before heading to Manchester and then across Europe.
