A man has stirred debate online after revealing why he walked away from his wedding on the day of the ceremony.
The story, originally shared on X (formerly Twitter), described how a single incident at the venue changed his mind about getting married.
According to the man, trouble began during preparations for family photographs. He said his wife’s mother publicly yelled at her husband for lagging.
The groom claimed the manner in which she spoke to her husband alarmed him.
“On my wedding day, my wife’s mother yelled at her husband because he was lagging behind for family pictures,” he wrote.
He said the incident made him fear for his future.
“I called my best man to the corner and told him I’m cancelling the wedding. Because if her mother can talk down on her husband in such a manner in public. I’m afraid her daughter (my wife) will do worse,” he stated.
Sudden Exit From Venue
The man explained that he created an excuse to leave the venue without raising suspicion.
“I pretended to answer a troubling call and left the venue. Told them I needed to pick up the ring,” he wrote.
He then switched off his phone.
“Turned off my phone. Till the next day. The marriage ended,” he added.
