The Manhyia Palace has officially announced a ban on all funeral activities across the Ashanti region from the 2nd of September, 2025 in reverence to the late Asantehemaa.

The ban is part of measures being deployed by the Palace in their preparation towards the traditional burial rite of the late Nana Konadu Yiadom which will span four days starting from the 14th of September, 2025.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, who announced this through one of his Linguists at the observance of the One Week rite of the passing of Nana Konadu Yiadom at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, said the remains of the late Queen mother will be interred at the Breman Royal Mausoleum in the Suame Municipality of Ashanti.

Meanwhile, the Palace has warned residents in the region, particularly those living and commuting along the rout to the Mausoleum, to stay indoors on the night of the Queen mother’s burial on the final day of the burial rite.
