Apostle Lilian Aryeequaye, widow of the late Ejisu MP John Kumah, has ignited conversations across social media following candid remarks about marriage and personal ambition.

Speaking to her congregation at the Disciples of Christ Ministries on Sunday, April 12, 2026, Apostle Lilian emphasised that while marriage is valuable, it should not come at the expense of a woman’s personal growth.

“Marriage is good, but it is not a career,” she stated. “Follow your dreams. Don’t sacrifice your dream for any man. If he doesn’t believe in your dreams, don’t believe in his own.”

Her comments come months after she remarried in December 2025, roughly a year after the sudden passing of her husband, John Kumah.

The remarriage itself drew public attention at the time, making her latest remarks even more significant in the ongoing public discourse about relationships, grief, and moving on.

Apostle Lilian encouraged women to invest in their own ambitions and self-development, warning against losing one’s identity in the pursuit of marriage.

She further suggested that some women may experience a decline in how they are perceived in relationships when they abandon their aspirations to become full-time housewives.
