Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been declared the winner of the Techiman South parliamentary seat following a re-collation of results mandated by an Accra High Court.

The final certified results revealed Adjei-Mensah Korsah securing 46,663 votes, defeating his closest rival Christopher Bayere Baasongti of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 43,429 votes. Other candidates, Donkor Moses and Bayoung Idris, received 140 and 76 votes, respectively.

Out of 91,152 total votes cast, 844 were rejected. The re-collation process excluded results from two polling stations with a combined voter population of 1,138 due to instances of over-voting.

Returning Officer Amartey Adjaottor stated that even if the excluded votes were added to Baasongti’s tally, Adjei-Mensah Korsah’s lead would remain decisive.

The High Court directive to the Electoral Commission (EC) to finalise and announce results resolved a protracted dispute over the 2024 elections in Techiman South. The constituency was among eight others under similar court orders to settle lingering electoral controversies.
