Maxwell Konadu appointed head Coach of Ghana’s U-20 Black Satellites

Former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu has been appointed as new head coach of Ghana’s U-20 national team, the Black Satellites. 

Maxwell Konadu takes over from Desmond Ofei, who currently serves as assistant coach of the Black Stars. Konadu will be supported by Nations FC deputy coach Johnson Smith and Dreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon. 

Konadu brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His managerial career includes stints at Eleven Wonders, Legon Cities, Asante Kotoko, and most recently, Nsoatreman FC. 

He has built a reputation as a tactician capable of guiding teams to domestic and continental success, making him a trusted figure in Ghanaian football circles.

Konadu led Asante Kotoko During his time with them to the Ghana Premier League title in 2012 and secured the President’s Cup in 2019. 

On the international stage, he also guided the Black Galaxies to two WAFU Championship victories in 2013 and 2017, demonstrating his ability to succeed both at club and regional levels. 

His achievements highlight a seasoned coach with deep knowledge of Ghanaian football.

He recently also made history with Nsoatreman FC by leading them to their maiden MTN FA Cup triumph in the 2023/24 season, a landmark moment for the club. 

This success further cements his status as one of the country’s most accomplished coaches and sets high expectations for his impact on the Black Satellites as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
