Ghanaian media personality and health advocate Abigail Ashley marked her birthday in a meaningful way by organising a free medical screening exercise for residents in Accra.

The event brought together health professionals who offered free checkups, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and body mass index (BMI) screenings. Participants also received health education and wellness advice.

Abigail Ashley, a well-known voice in health advocacy and host of the popular “My Health, My Life” show, said the gesture was part of her commitment to giving back to the community and raising awareness on the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare.

“For me, celebrating life also means helping others live healthier. I want people to understand the power of knowing your health status early,” she said.

The screening attracted dozens of residents, especially women and the elderly, who expressed appreciation for the initiative.

This year’s celebration adds to Abigail Ashley’s longstanding efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and support underprivileged communities through her outreach programmes.
