Aicha Amoako Denteh was born and raised in Akim Oda, Ghana. From a young age, she exhibited a deep passion for football especially Women’s Football, often participating in local tournaments. Her love for women’s football grew stronger as she watched her country’s female national teams compete on both international and local stages.
Education and Career Beginnings:
Aicha Amoako Denteh pursued HND in Bilingual office Management from Alliance Française, where she excelled academically while actively engaging in various sports activities. As a multilingual person, she speaks three international languages- French, English, German, and two local languages, thus Akan and Hausa. After graduation, she began her career in Team and Welfare Management at Berry Ladies Football Club, initially working as an intern.
Rise to Prominence:
Aicha’s dedication and commitment quickly caught the attention of the management team at Berry Ladies FC, one of the leading women’s football clubs in Ghana. She was then appointed asthe clubs Head of welfare in 2020, responsible for ensuring the well-being and welfare of the players both on and off the field. Aicha’s empathetic approach and genuine care for the players earned her respect and admiration from the entire team.
Role at Berry Ladies Football Club:
As the welfare manager of Berry Ladies FC, Aicha Denteh played a crucial role in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring that the players had the necessary support systems in place to thrive. She organized and achieved a lot with the club and helped with internal trainingsfocusing on personal development and recognizing the importance of holistic teamwork amongst them.
Appointment as Team Manager:
Aicha Amoako Denteh’s leadership qualities and organizational skills did not go unnoticed. After several successful seasons with Berry Ladies FC, she was appointed as the team and welfare manager, becoming the first female to hold such two positions in the club’s history. In her new role, Aicha continued to prioritize the well-being of the players while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team.
Contribution to the Ghana Black Princesses (U20):
Aicha’s exceptional performance at Berry Ladies FC caught the attention of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Mrs. Gifty Oware-Mensah approached her in December 2022 to serve as theTeam and welfare manager for the Ghana Black Princesses, the under-20 national women’s football team. In this capacity, Aicha plays a vital role in ensuring that the players receive the necessary support and guidance as they represent their country on both local and international stages. During her time as the Ghana Black Princesses Team and Welfare Manager, together with the team swept a brace of a host and win tournament at WAFU Zone B under 20 Girls Championship in 2023, qualified to The FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup that will take place in Colombia on 31 August 2024 and Champions of the 13th All African Games Women’s Tournament (Gold Medalists) held in Ghana. As a sports enthusiast many would ask how her passion for sports resonated, “I outwardly appear to be assertive, energetic and effusive this is because I see sports as a passion. Therefore I desire to work in the arena of sports and ensure that sports, especially women’s football has gain the maximum support of the masses”- She stated in an interview with SKB Journal
Many know her as result oriented, highly analytical as she identify challenges and easily present options for solving them as her customer service relations and interpersonal communications utter these personal traits.
Though Miss Amoako Denteh’s desire is to work in CAF one day, she acknowledges the fact that she has to start from somewhere. In July 2022, she was a liaison officer to Kumasi Asante Kotoko, part of CAF Officials and an announcer in the WAFU ZONE B tournament.
