Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School is set to light up Saltpond this weekend as it marks its 65th anniversary with a speech and prize-giving day, followed by an exciting homecoming celebration!
The milestone event, hosted by the 2000-year group of the Mfantsiman Old Girls Association (MOGA), promises a vibrant mix of nostalgia, inspiration, and entertainment.
From Friday, March 14, to Sunday, March 16, 2025, the school’s premises will transform into a hub of activity, with over 5,000 old students and current students expected to join the festivities.
The lineup includes a career guidance and counselling session, a moving candlelight procession, and an energising fitness session to kick off the celebrations.
The main event—a grand durbar and speech and prize-giving ceremony—will take center stage on Saturday, March 15, bringing together top dignitaries, past students, and current students for a day of recognition and inspiration.
Star performers of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and internal school assessments will also be honoured for their outstanding achievements.
Sunday’s climax will feature a heartfelt thanksgiving service and an inter-house fundraising competition to support key school projects.
This year’s theme, “Leveraging New Media Technology to Optimise Girl-Child Education,” highlights the role of digital advancements in empowering young women, especially in underserved communities.
Among the distinguished guests expected are the Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and the Minister of Gender, Children & Social Protection, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, who will serve as Guests of Honour alongside Ambassador Jane Gasu Aheto.
