Michael Essien, a former Ghanaian international and current assistant coach at Danish side FC Nordsjaelland, emphasized the importance of preparation before embarking on a coaching career.

“I think it makes it easier when you prepare yourself,” Michael Essien noted, reflecting on his journey.

“I started doing my badges and my license before I stopped playing.” Essien, who enjoys a quiet and content life, is thrilled to be part of the FC Nordsjaelland setup, describing it as one of the best organizations he has been involved in.

His role focuses on preparing young players for the next stages of their careers. “We try to prepare the boys and provide them with the right information to help them in the next stage of their career,” Essien added.

The 41-year-old coach played for Chelsea, Bastia, Olympique Lyon, Panathinaikos, Real Madrid, AC Milan and FK Sabail. He made 59 appearances for Ghana and scored nine goals.
