Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has set his sights on making a significant impact in the UEFA Champions League following his high-profile move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 24-year-old forward completed a £55 million transfer from West Ham United to Spurs on Thursday, signing a six-year deal with the North London club.

His arrival comes as Tottenham prepare to return to Europe’s elite competition in the 2025/26 season.

Reflecting on the move, Kudus described joining Spurs as a major milestone in his career, highlighting his long-standing ambition to play at the highest level.

“I know how big the club is, the history, and I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level in the Champions League as well, so it’s a big moment for me,” he told the club website.

Having previously featured in the Champions League with Dutch giants Ajax, Kudus brings valuable experience to Tottenham’s European campaign.

He made nine appearances in the competition for Ajax between 2020 and 2022, scoring four goals in six group stage matches during the 2022 season.

“I think the Champions League is one of the biggest stages in football. I’ve played a couple of games at Ajax so I have a bit of history, and I know it’s top-level football and it requires a lot of quality and focus throughout the whole game, so I’m just hoping to use my individual ability to help the team go as far as we can,” he added.

Kudus’ arrival is expected to add flair and firepower to Ange Postecoglou’s squad as they look to challenge both domestically and in Europe next season.
