Mohammed PoloLegendary Ghanaian footballer Mohammed Ahmed, popularly known as Mohammed Polo, has revealed how his football journey began under unusual circumstances.Speaking to JoySports,the 1978 AFCON winner stated that he was destined to be a footballer at a time when teenagers were not encouraged to pursue the sport. Polo also highlighted his unique achievement of playing across four different generations.”I am the only player in Ghana to have played with four generations and a player at the same time as a coach Today, I am a coach, and I want to impact. Some of us have something special for these younger ones. I feel sad; Ghana football shouldn’t be where it is now,” he said.Polo described his early football journey as mysterious, explaining, “It all started in a very mysterious way because it never happens. It looks like it was destined to happen because I didn’t know what I was doing, even though I used to play football we played with the giants.”He further explained that his nickname, Polo, came from his love for horse racing. “I enjoy watching polo games One time, there was a match, and I told them I had to watch polo firstthat’s how the name Polo came about,” he recalled.
