The government has welcomed the arrival of 100 brand-new 29-seater buses, as announced by Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive plan to procure 300 vehicles aimed at enhancing transport services and easing the burden on commuters nationwide.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Mr. Ofosu shared the exciting news, stating: “The first batch of 100 buses has landed in the country to tackle the ongoing road transport challenges. This is just the start, with another 100 buses scheduled to arrive in August and the final group in November”.
This intervention comes in response to a recent crisis of vehicle shortages that left countless commuters stranded at bus stops and terminals.
Commenting, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang noted that government is committed to restoring stability to the transport system.

With the arrival of these new buses, immediate relief is on the horizon for commuters, while the forthcoming deliveries promise to further strengthen public transport capacity across the country.
