Musicians Union Of Ghana Musiga Marked A Remarkable

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) brought the nation’s creative community together on Saturday, November 29, 2025, for a dazzling Golden Jubilee Gala at the Labadi Beach Hotel, commemorating 50 years of championing Ghanaian music and cultural expression. The glamorous evening drew government leaders, traditional authorities, industry icons, and music lovers for a heartfelt celebration of MUSIGA’s legacy.

Delivering a keynote address on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo praised MUSIGA for its resilience and influence in shaping Ghana’s cultural identity. She noted that the music industry continues to play a crucial role in the nation’s economic growth, contributing significantly to tourism and global visibility.

Hon. Bampoe Addo outlined several government efforts aimed at elevating the sector, including the Creative Arts Fund, improved copyright frameworks, and collaborations with leading digital service providers. She urged creatives to take advantage of new frontiers in technology, artificial intelligence, digital distribution, and global partnerships, emphasising the boundless potential ahead.

Attendees were treated to captivating performances from celebrated artistes, alongside a special tribute to highlife trailblazers. A highlight of the night was the unveiling and auction of the MUSIGA@50 Commemorative Book, which chronicles the Union’s journey and achievements. MUSIGA also presented honours to distinguished personalities who have shaped the music ecosystem over the last five decades.

In his remarks, MUSIGA President Bessa Simons expressed deep appreciation to the Union’s members, elders, and partners. He reaffirmed MUSIGA’s commitment to talent development and strengthening the foundations of Ghana’s creative future.

The gala concluded in a spirit of unity and forward-looking optimism, symbolising MUSIGA’s readiness to lead the next 50 years of innovation and cultural impact.
