The Progressive Muslims Forum (PMF) has formally called on the Ghana Hajj Board to publish its 2025 financial and operational report, citing legal and religious obligations.

The Nima-based organization emphasized transparency as mandated by Ghana’s Financial Administration Act (Act 654) and Islamic contractual principles.

PMF referenced Quranic scripture (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:282) requiring documentation of agreements, asserting that annual non-disclosure enables mismanagement. The group noted repeated appeals since 2019 for Hajj accountability, including under previous administrations, have yielded no public reporting.

Specific demands include:

  • Itemized Hajj fare cost breakdowns

  • Full revenue and expenditure documentation

  • Disclosure of logistical contracts
PMF further urged presidential establishment of a Commission of Inquiry to audit past and present Hajj operations.

The organization confirmed it will invoke Right to Information (RTI) procedures and pursue legal action if reports remain undisclosed. PMF offered to collaborate on implementing international best practices for Hajj management.
