Founder and Global Lead Pastor of Empowerment Worship Centre in Accra, Prophet Gideon Danso, has shared that his marriage to his wife, Gina, cost just GH₵600.
The pastor detailed the no-frills ceremony, emphasising the importance of financial prudence and focusing on what truly matters in marriage.
Speaking to his congregation at church today April 27 , Prophet Danso explained that the wedding was devoid of extravagant makeup, no suit, no veil, and no reception.
“I called a reverend, he came, he signed, we took vows, he blessed us. We served Malta and Fanta. No food, no nothing, no vendors,” he said. The modest affair, cost a total of GH₵600, leaving the couple debt-free and unburdened by financial obligations.
The pastor expressed deep gratitude for his wife, Gina, whom he described as “special” for her support in prioritising their shared goals.
He credited her partnership for enabling them to build a church and a home while living a fulfilling life.
“This girl has saved my pocket,” he said, highlighting the benefits of their frugal approach.
Prophet Danso used the story to encourage his congregation to avoid societal pressures and embrace simplicity in their own weddings.
“Let us do what pleases God and not put burdens on ourselves,” he urged, praying for those who feel compelled to overspend on lavish ceremonies.
