Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, NPP’s Vice Presidential Candidate has called on every Ghanaian to do his or her utmost best to ensure that the country’s peace is maintained after the December general elections.
He said the NPP government was committed to ensure that everything was done to sustain the country’s peace before, during and after the elections.
Addressing party supporters as part of his campaign tour at Asante Asokore, in the Sekyere East District, he said the government, under the leadership of Nana Akufo Addo, would work to protect the country’s peace at all times.
Dr Opoku Prempeh said the government was ready to do all in its power to ensure violent free elections and called on everybody to do their part to maintain the peace in the country.
He said the NPP was campaigning on ideas that would help promote the rapid transformation of the nation and would not follow the path of the NDC Presidential Candidate, who had resorted to insults and attacks on his political opponents.
Dr Opoku Prempeh pointed out that the recent call by former President Mahama on NDC supporters to engage in street demonstrations and attack the offices of the Electoral Commission (EC), demonstrated his desire to plunge the country into chaos if he lost the December elections.
He said former President Mahama, realising that defeat was staring at him was looking for avenues to create confusion in the country, and urged Ghanaians not to give him a chance.
The NPP Presidential Running Mate said Ghana was peaceful and needed the efforts of everybody to help maintain the peace which was needed to continue the transformation agenda of the next NPP government.
He said the next NPP government led by Dr Bawumia would work with chiefs and other opinion leaders to implement policies and programmes that would help accelerate the pace of development in the country.
Dr Opoku Prempeh called on Ghanaians to vote massively for Dr Bawumia and the NPP to help continue the implementation of the various social intervention programmes which were helping to improve the living conditions of the people in all parts of the country.
