Greater Accra NDC Director of Elections Prof. Joshua Alabi has dismissed allegations of collusion with electoral authorities ahead of Friday’s parliamentary rerun in Ablekuma North.

In a July 10 interview with Citi FM, Alabi rejected claims that the Electoral Commission (EC) favors the NDC, asserting: “State institutions no longer engage in past corrupt practices the NPP indulged in – which explains their current predicament. We won’t repeat their mistakes.”

Alabi confirmed the party met with National Security task forces, receiving assurances of a peaceful process across the 19 disputed polling stations. “We’re doing zero underhand dealings,” he emphasized, framing the rerun as an integrity test following December 2024 polling irregularities.

The comments come amid heightened tension after the NPP initially boycotted the rerun before reversing course. The NDC maintains it seeks only a transparent resolution to reclaim the constituency seat under Ghana’s ruling government.
