Malik Basintale, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ‘s deputy communications officer, has voiced scepticism over Energy Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s (known as Napo) qualifications to serve as Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate.
Dr Bawumia recently announced his choice of running mate to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In an interview with Selorm Adonoo on Point Blank on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Basintale argued that Napo lacks the necessary competencies for the role, citing what he described as a poor track record and perceived arrogance.
“[Napo] is a terrible candidate…He has a terrible track record…He was the same person who came to take us back to Dumsor, and today, lights go off recklessly here and there. Same man,” Basintale asserted.
He further criticized Napo’s temperament, aggressive nature, and alleged deficiencies in competence, questioning his suitability for the running mate position.
