An aspiring Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, Reagan Amponsah Asare, has been arrested alongside several accomplices for allegedly impersonating national security operatives at illegal mining sites.
According to reports, the suspects are accused of dressing as national security personnel and moving from one galamsey site to another in parts of the Western North Region.

The suspects were arraigned before the Bodi Circuit Court, which subsequently remanded them into police custody as investigations continue.
