The Vice Chairman of the ECOWAS Commission, Damtien L. Tchintchibidja, on November 11, 2025, paid a working visit to the site of the new headquarters of the ECOWAS Commission, accompanied by technical managers from Transport and Administration and General Services.
Representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Nigeria, the main financier of the project, were also present. The Vice Chairman and his delegation received detailed information on the progress of the works, the expected deadlines for completion, and the challenges that require urgent attention to ensure the full operation of the complex after its delivery.
Overall physical progress was estimated at around 85%, with arrangements being agreed to ensure the remaining 15% of the works are completed urgently to allow for the formal delivery of the infrastructure.
