The bodies of the nine school children who drowned after the boat they were travelling on, capsized on the estuary at ‘Wiaboman’, have been laid to rest. Family and friends could not hold back their tears when the bodies of the victims were laid at the Bortianor palace park for a final farewell.
The school children met their untimely death on May 10 when the canoe on which they were travelling capsized and drowned at ‘Faana’ in the Weija Gbawe Municipality.
Weija Gbawe Municipal Chief Executive Patrick Kumor later said a 12-year-old was paddling the Canoe at the time of the accident.
