Self-acclaimed Ghanaian fashion critic and social media commentator, Charlie Dior, has thrown shades at the Member of Parliament for Ningo PramPram, Sam Nartey George for being too serious about the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill in Ghana.
Speaking in a recent interview, Charlie Dior disclosed that, there are more important things that the NDC government can focus on instead of channelling all their strength to passing the Anti-LGBTQ Bill. He added that the bill doesn’t affect the price of kenkey—a local staple food.
Dior’s comments also questioned the MP’s fixation on the LGBTQ+ community, asserting that no gay man would find Sam George attractive.
The bill criminalises LGBTQ+ activities, including promotion and funding, with penalties ranging from six months to five years in prison. While supporters, including Sam George, argue that it protects Ghanaian family values and sovereignty, critics cite human rights concerns and economic risks, particularly regarding foreign investments.
Charlie Dior added that no gay found Sam George attractive so he should stop taking the passing of the bill too seriously and focus on how he and the NDC party can revive the economy.
