Medeama coach Ibrahim TankoMedeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has urged calm despite watching his side’s commanding nine-point lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League dwindle to just one point after a run of four games without a win.The league leaders have picked up only three points from their last four matchesthree consecutive draws against Swedru All Blacks, Samartex, and Aduana, followed by a 2-1 loss to Nations FC. Meanwhile, defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars have won all of their last four games to close the gap dramatically, now sitting second with 45 points to Medeama’s 46.Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash against Hohoe United in Tarkwa, Tanko dismissed any suggestion of panic within his camp.”It’s disturbing, but we don’t have to press any panic button,” he said.”We still have 10 games, five home, five away, and definitely all of us have very tough matches. Bibiani will come to us, we will also go to play Accra Hearts of Oak.”The experienced coach, a former Black Stars assistant, stressed the importance of focusing on what lies ahead rather than dwelling on recent setbacks.”We have to concentrate on the last 10 games and then try to win our matches, especially starting on Sunday against Hohoe.”With the title race now wide open, every fixture carries immense weight. But Tanko’s message is clear: the target remains the same, and the team remains in control of its own destiny.
