Popular Nigerian actor Patrick Doyle has announced the death of his newborn daughter, just a day after he and his wife, Funmilayo Doyle, celebrated her birth.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Doyle said the baby, named Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle, was born on Friday, 10 April at around 10:40am and passed away on Saturday, 11 April at about 4:15pm. He described her brief life as one that brought “great joy”, adding that “her stay was short, but it brought great joy with it.”
The veteran Nollywood actor expressed faith in God despite the loss, writing that “God still rules in the affairs of men” and that “it is well with our soul.” The news has since drawn widespread condolences from fans and well-wishers on social media.
