Northern sector referees undergo physical fitness test ahead of new season

Northern sector match officials have undergone a mandatory fitness test ahead of the new season.

The officials, made up of Referees and Assistant Referees, took part in the physical exercise at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi at the weekend.

A total of One Hundred and Eight (180) officials underwent the physical fitness test in preparation for the 2024-25 Football season.

The fitness test is mandatory and helps in putting match officials in the right shape and state ahead of the new season.

The officials, who will make the cut after the selection process is completed, will be officiating matches in the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

Referees and Assistant Referees from the Northern Zone comprising Ashanti , Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions completed the exercise at the weekend in Kumasi.

A similar exercise will be conducted for match officials in the Southern Zone comprising Greater Accra, Volta, Central, Western and Eastern Regions at Cape Coast between August 16-17, 2024.
