Ghanaian dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has made it clear that his much-anticipated trip to Jamaica is not for critics or their debates. In a fiery Snapchat post, the outspoken artist emphasized that his journey is all about honoring and celebrating Jamaican dancehall legend Vybz Kartel, a man he deeply admires and considers a role model.
Shatta Wale’s admiration for Vybz Kartel is no secret. Over the years, he has openly expressed his respect for the Jamaican star’s artistry, despite any controversies surrounding both artists. This trip marks a dream come true for Shatta Wale, as he is set to meet his idol for the first time in person at the Freedom Concert. The two are also expected to perform their hit collaboration, Mansa Musa, from Shatta Wale’s Maali album, released in March 2023.
In his post, Shatta Wale dismissed his detractors, writing, “I am not traveling for talkatives with empty heads. I am just going to celebrate the new year with a man I have cherished all my life. Take note that I am not going to perform to impress no myopic talkative losers.”
