Notorious car snatcher arrested by police

A 32-year-old notorious car snatcher, Daniel Amponsoh, has been arrested by the Assin Praso District Police Command.

The suspect stole a Toyota Yaris with registration number GW-5149-19 from the Assin Praso taxi station.

The vehicle was parked at the taxi station and was left unattended with the ignition key on, making it an easy target for the suspect. He jumped into it and sped off towards Assin Fosu Direction.

However, luck eluded him when the complainant, Paul Eduafo Baidoo, and Assistant Immigration Control Officer II Lawrence Addoe quickly sprang into action, chasing the suspect and apprehending him at Assin Asempanaye.

The suspect was subsequently handed over to the police, who detained him to facilitate further investigation.

The police, led by Detective Chief Inspector Jacob Osei Kojo, have impounded the vehicle and are holding it as evidence to aid in the investigation.
