Ghana’s opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has categorically denied reports it contracted Ukraine-based PR firm Brandcom to operate fake social media accounts against former President John Mahama during the 2024 elections.
The party rejected an AllAfrica.com article alleging the collaboration, calling it “baseless and defamatory” in an August 3, 2025 statement signed by its communications directorate.
The NPP emphasized its commitment to electoral integrity and democratic norms, stating the publication aimed solely to “tarnish the party’s image.”
It demanded an immediate retraction from AllAfrica.com and threatened legal action if the report stands uncorrected. No evidence substantiating the claim was provided in the party’s rebuttal.
