A member of the NDC Legal team, Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu has criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the current turmoil which has occurred in the party amid the ongoing Thank You tour.
Former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, clashed with New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, at Berekum in the Bono Region during Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s national thank-you tour on Monday, April 28, 2025.
Kennedy Agyapong subsequently officially withdrew from the party’s ongoing “Thank You” tour on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 citing security threats to his supporters following a violent incident in Kumasi.
Agyapong revealed that his decision stems from an attack involving a group of gun-wielding men during a party event held at the Pentecost Church in Bantama.
Commenting on the recent happenings in the party, Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu said the NPP has now being taken over by thugs, attributing the blame to former President Akufo-Addo who he accused caused such occurrences when he took over as flagbearer of the party years ago.

Speaking in an interview on TV3 New Day’s Big Issue, Wednesday, April 30, Adawudu questioned if the NPP has leadership at the moment, stating that the party’s founding fathers would be lamenting in their graves over the current internal wranglings within the party.
“If you look at what is happening, the Ga’s will say ‘Is there no elder within the NPP?’. I am concerned about what’s happening because the dafts within the NPP are silent.
“There are refined people, intelligent people within the NPP who are the dafts but they have allowed the hawks to take over and while the hawks have taken over, thuggery have taken over our political scene.
“I’m sure the founders of the NPP will be turning in their graves for what they are seeing today,” he noted.
On Wednesday, April 30, 2025 a student from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), affiliated with Unity Hall and hired by Agyapong’s team, was stabbed during the chaos and is currently receiving emergency treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu added: “Let’s lay this squarely, when President Kuffour was there, we didn’t see this within the party, but when Nana Akufo-Addo took over the reins of the NPP, we saw thuggery, vigilantism, invincible bull dogs being poured on people, it was accepted within the party.”
He contended that former President Akufo-Addo although was admired and praised for his advocacy as a lawyer, did not perform better while serving as a President.
“Nana Akufo-Addo as a lawyer, we all respected him for his advocacy and the law but in governance, he is a disappointment,” he said.
