Education Minister, Dr. Mattew Opoku Prempeh has revealed that all newly recruited teachers last year have been put on the government payroll.

According to him, government has abolished the practice whereby it takes a very long time before newly recruited teachers are put on the payroll.

“To support teachers, this government came to meet a policy of three months’ pay policy that no matter when you were recruited and how long you have worked, you will be paid only three months. This policy was dropped by this government and I can say that all teachers recruited last year have been put on the payroll, and for those who have served for three months, some have served for six months, all their salary arrears have been paid by this government.” He disclosed
