Former Minority Chief Whip and Asawase MP Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka has cast doubt on the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) ambitious target of securing over 80% of votes in the Ashanti Region for the upcoming December election, labelling it unachievable.
Addressing reporters in Kumasi, Muntaka highlighted the NPP’s perceived shortcomings in the region and questioned the feasibility of such a high percentage amid evident challenges.
“With all the visible struggles, how do you expect to achieve 85%? I heard someone talking about 85%, and I thought, this person must be from another world,” Muntaka remarked sceptically.
Expressing optimism for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Muntaka suggested they aim for around 32% of the votes in the Ashanti Region this election cycle.
