Ntanorkrom community gets Mmabawahemaa

 A 51-year old business woman, known in a private life as Abigail Kwao has been enstooled as Mmabawahemaa of Ntanorkrom Effiduase, in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region with a stool name Nana Akosua Kwao Abigail.

The Mmabawahemaa known by the community members as brave, pleasant, problem-solver, a girl child advocate and a community builder, was enstooled to bring her expertise on board to empower young women in the area and help promote development of the Ntanorkrom Community.

Nana Akosua Kwao Abigail is the first Mmabawahemaa to be enstooled in the Ntanorkrom community. She took the Oath of Allegiance before the Community Chief of Ntanorkrom, Otubour Gyan Kwasi, his elders and the community members.

The Chief of Ntanorkrom, Otubour Gyan Kwasi, advised the new Queen mother to be diligent in serving the people of the community. 

He advised her not to lord over the women and appealed to the women to support her to achieve her dream of developing the young women to become good future leaders. He urged her to work hard to promote peace and unity to enhance development of the area.

In her acceptance speech, Nana Akosua Kwao Abigail showed her appreciation to the chief, elders, and community members for the honour done her. She hinted that she will use her position to address some of the challenges confronting young women in the area adding that girl child education is important and she will do her best to see to it that young girls in the community are educated or learn a skill to aid their lives for survival. 

She stated that she will collaborate with opinion leaders in the community to prevent truancy and promote learning among young women in the area.

Nana Akosua Kwao Abigail urged the youth to desist from premarital sex and focus on their education.
