Ghana Football Association General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo has said that the officiating in this season’s Premier League has been fair overall.

However, he acknowledged that there have been a few incidents related to officiating, which is not uncommon in other leagues.

While addressing the issue, Addo emphasised the absence of bribery claims against referees, which he sees as a significant step towards eradicating corruption from the game.

“Generally, refereeing has been very fair, but there have been a few incidents that have arisen, just like in other leagues,” Addo told Asempa FM, as quoted by Ghanaweb.

He further added, “We have not recorded any incidents of referees receiving bribes. There are just allegations. People need to report such incidents when they have information.”

As the season nears its conclusion, the title race remains highly competitive, with Medeama, Aduana Stars, Bechem United, and reigning champions Asante Kotoko all vying for the coveted championship.

Meanwhile, Kotoku Royals have already been confirmed for relegation, while several other teams, including Great Olympics, Dreams FC, and Real Tamale United, are at risk of facing the same fate.
