Afrobeats sensation, OliveTheBoy, born Joel Ofori Bonsu has described his recent collaboration with King Promise and Sarkodie as a major milestone in his career, calling the experience “a blessing.”

Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV‘s The Chat with Ekow Koomson on Saturday May 3, OliveTheBoy detailed how the collaboration came together unexpectedly.

“The collaboration was really a blessing because when you have people like King Promise and Sarkodie on a song, it’s really a big deal,” he said.

According to him, King Promise did not initially reach out to him for the project. Instead, the opportunity arose after the two met at a show last year, where OliveTheBoy learned that King Promise was preparing to release an album and needed a quick turnaround for the collaboration.

OliveTheBoy said he had only a few hours to record his verse but saw the tight deadline as motivation.

“The limited time didn’t hinder me but rather encouraged me to show the world what I have within,” he noted.

The resulting track, *Favorite Story*, has since become a fan favorite, gaining widespread popularity since its release last year.
