In the wake of Karela United’s 1-0 defeat to Nsoatreman in the FA Cup quarterfinal, coach Abukari Damba has lauded the fairness of the game, despite the bitter taste of loss.
The match played at the Nana Amoah Koronmansah II Park on Saturday afternoon, saw Nsoatreman clinch a hard-fought victory, securing their spot in the semi-finals.
The decisive moment came in the 102nd minute when Eric Osei Bonsu scored a brilliant goal from a sublime build-up, giving Nsoatreman the lead and ultimately the victory. Despite the defeat, Damba maintained a positive outlook, commending both teams for their spirited performance and passion.
“Yes we conceded a goal in the run of play and why was it so normally I don’t like talking about officiating officials we have been told to protect players the health of the players is very important. Then a player falls in the half of his team lying flat motionless and the game was allowed to progress for 3 minutes,” he said.
“But I leave that for posterity to judge that notwithstanding I think it was a fair game both teams played very well spirited performance they showed passion they showed character from both teams. I think it was fair reflection of the game,” he added.
