The U.S. Embassy in Accra has announced the availability of more than 1,000 non-immigrant visa appointment slots, allowing applicants in Ghana to secure interview dates within the next week.
The majority of the openings are for B1/B2 visas, which cover business and tourism travel, with officials urging prospective travellers to book appointments promptly.

In a notice shared via Facebook, the embassy encouraged applicants with later interview dates to reschedule for earlier slots if convenient, stating, “There are more than 1,000 B1/B2 visa appointment slots available in the next week – one of those could be yours.” The announcement aims to reduce recent concerns over extended waiting periods for visa interviews.
The embassy noted that the increased availability forms part of preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States alongside Mexico and Canada, as travel demand is expected to rise significantly in the lead-up to the tournament.
