The Ghana Tertiary Education Council (GTEC) has ordered the closure of Royal Nursing College, a nursing school in Tafo, Ashanti Region.

The GTEC’s decision to order the closure of the school came after they visited the school on February 19 to inspect whether things were going well there.

Following their inspection, the GTEC had no option but to order the closure of the school, stating that the decision would help protect the students.

The GTEC made it known to all and sundry that, the school failed to document confirming accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council, adding that, it also ignored a June 2024 directive prohibiting it from admitting new students.

At the moment, over 800 students are left stranded, crying out loud.
