KRC Genk forward Joseph Paintsil has expressed his admiration and desire to play in the English Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Ghana winger has been in remarkable form in the Belgian top flight scoring 18 and assisting 14 times which helped his team earn qualification into the UEFA Champions League despite missing out on the trophy on the last day.

The performance of the 25-year-old has caught the attention of many top clubs in England including Brentford, Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion who have expressed interest.

Responding to his future with Genk, Paintsil told 3FM that he has long admired the English Premier League which he believes is the best league in the world. According to him, he would be glad if his agent works things out in that direction.

“Every professional footballer will love to play in the English Premier League. That’s the best competition in Europe. I will be looking forward to being taken and representing one of the teams in England,” he said.

“But it’s football and this is the duty of the agent. For me, I’ve already done what I’m supposed to do. So I will just leave it for my agent and the club to decide.

“I will be really happy if teams in England approach and take my best moments and I also show the world and England that I’m capable of giving 100% commitment to which ever club I join.

Paintsil will soon join Chris Hughton’s men in camp as the Black Stars prepare ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Madagascar on June 18, 2023.
