The Ghana Police Service has refuted claims that it has forced accused persons to re-enact protest at the 37 intersection.
In a press release signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director, Public Affairs, the Police service said that the statement allegedly issued by the lawyers of the accused persons of the Democracy Hub Demonstration, claiming that the Police forced their clients to re-enact the protest at the 37 intersection is false and should be disregarded.
The Police explained that, the crime scene reconstruction, as part of the process of investigation, is a standard practice used by the various law enforcement agencies across the world and it is in full compliance with the established procedures of the Ghana Police Service; a practice the Police has been using since time immemorial.
The Ghana Police maintains that the accusations leveled against the noble security institution lacks basis, hence, the general public should disregard the accusation, as the Police seeks to protect the lives and properties of all its citizens in the face of the continuous demonstrations embarked on by various groups.
