The Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP)-led government for what he calls “reckless borrowing,” stating that future generations will judge the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration harshly for its perceived failures.

“I believe that posterity will surely vindicate our warnings regarding the reckless borrowing and economic mismanagement under the Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration,” he emphasized.

According to Dr. Ato Forson, history will eventually applaud the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Minority Caucus in Parliament for their foresight in warning the NPP government about the risks associated with excessive borrowing risks that went unheeded.

The Minority Leader also raised alarming concerns about certain individuals within the NPP allegedly benefiting from substantial sums, including transaction advisory fees, amid the country’s growing public debt challenges.

Dr. Ato Forson further highlighted the NDC’s prior concerns about the management of the Bank of Ghana, attributing significant losses to poor oversight.

Dr. Ato Forson also accused the outgoing government of being involved in dubious and corrupt practices across multiple sectors, citing agriculture, especially the cocoa industry and infrastructure development.

Dr. Ato Forson’s strong statements, according to him, serve as a testament to the heightened political tensions and scrutiny as the nation transitions to a new chapter in governance.
